Hope DeLap

Hope DeLap is Strategic Litigation Counsel at the Arizona Justice Project. As Strategic Litigation Counsel, she litigates cases of wrongful conviction and manifest injustice and lobbies for legislative reforms to prevent future miscarriages of justice. Hope represents clients in state post-conviction proceedings and in federal court. Hope also works with law enforcement, prosecutors, the judiciary, and community leaders to improve Arizona’s criminal legal system.   

Before joining the Arizona Justice Project in 2020, Hope represented wrongfully convicted persons in West Virginia as the Justice Franklin D. Cleckley Fellow for the West Virginia Innocence Project. Hope received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2018 and graduated summa cum laude from The University of California, Irvine with a B.A. in Criminology, Law and Society in 2015.
