Katie first joined the Arizona Justice Project in 2008, shortly after graduating from Howard University School of Law. Katie first worked as the assistant to the Executive Director then became the Case Coordinator, Co-Director, and then Director.

In 2015, Katie became the Supervising Attorney for the Post-Conviction Clinic at The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Katie remained in that position until 2020/2021 – all the while continuing to work in partnership with the Arizona Justice Project as a consultant.

In August 2023, Katie returned to the Arizona Justice Project as Communications and Legal Strategy Coordinator. Throughout her legal career, Katie has worked on a variety of cases and issues involving wrongful convictions, excessive sentencing, compassionate release, parole, and clemency.
